We're Halloween People

I just now noticed that I forgot to publish this post back in October! I had all the pictures laid out but failed to commentate and officially click the publish button! Here's the pictures that the blogging world has been deprived of :)

Here's Damon picking out pumpkins and there's my finger that got in the way...

Thee cutest little shopping carts for little shoppers at Smith's. Damon was pretty excited about not only getting to push the cart but being able to get his pumpkin.

I just can't get enough of this cuteness!

This is Damon's new trick that he discovered back in October. It's quite scary because sometimes that firetruck moves out from underneath him! We need a stepping stool otherwise he's going to keep on being a little climber boy!

We decided to do pumpkins differently this year. Instead of carving the pumpkins, we painted them! It was the perfect pumpkin project especially for Damon's age.

He loves to paint! It was fun for us all!

And I must say, Damon's pumpkin turned out very artistic and abstract. He's very talented and knows how to speak to your soul through art :)

I love it when he wears Daddy's hats. He loves it too. He's just so handsome and is growing up too fast! He's just a little man now!

I told Damon to show me his pumpkin. I love that he responded to me and pointed to it. He loved calling the pumpkins jack-o-lanterns. It was so cute how he'd say it! There's also my Garrett working on his pumpkin on the left. It turned out pretty cool.

I found this picture to be hilarious. I love Damon's smile peeking through!

I have thee sweetest husband. He does so many sweet things for me that I know no ordinary man would do for anyone. He pampers me. I won't go into detail but my sweet husband made me feel so loved. He is my greatest blessing. He's my man that I cherish every second.

Father/son snuggles and wrestles. No greater sight for a wife/mother to watch between her husband and son.
Molly wanted to get in on the action.

"Walk on my back." Of course he does it happily and Daddy enjoys it.

Our countdown to Garrett's Birthday/Halloween :)

Presents, I say, make for good decorations!

Some more decorations! My hubby was turning 26! (We made "Jack-o-lanterns" for family night out of paper plates. We taped on the faces. Mine was the far left on the mantel. Damon's was in the middle and Garrett's is on the far right)

Damon showing off our finished pumpkins! :) He's such a character!

For trunk-or-treat Garrett and I dressed as vampires (easiest, cheapest costume)...I just painted fangs onto my lips. Pretty cool pinterest find!

Damon went as batman to the trunk-or-treat because I wasn't finished with the Peter Pan costume I was making him. Damon was happy with being Batman again though because he is SOOO into superheroes right now.
Our "car neighbors" put us to shame with their car decorations and fun games to play!

These boys are pretty cute

Garrett looks like too happy of a vampire haha.

There we go...that's more vampire-ous! Love him :)

Candy candy candy! After we trunk-or-treated (which Damon thoroughly enjoyed this year) we went inside the church to watch the Halloween Costume Fashion Show. There was a lot of music, dancing, donuts and drinks too. Damon surprised me by not wanting to dance. It was getting pretty late though. He was just satisfied with sitting and watching...while eating candy.

Damon and Garrett with the Messers!

Grandpa and Grandma are always so good at sending random cards to Damon that have pictures for him to color and stickers. Damon loves it!

Damon put his pants on backwards and then was putting his hands in his pockets. He also dumped out all the doors then lined them up so he could walk on them.

Handsome Handsome looking fly with his top button buttoned :)
I think he was proud of his look that day :)

More Birthday decorations for my hubby! Since we are living in Garrett's grandma's home I feel like I can't get too comfortable here. (like nail more pictures in the wall or pull everything out of our boxes that are in the garage) We have no idea how long we'll be able to live here and plus all of GG's stuff is here. I want to make it more our home looking but I'm also afraid to, also I've realized we have a lot to buy! So putting up notes for decorations always makes me happy...it fills in the walls :) I never like taking them down lol.

In the month of October and beginning of November I was doing the Whole 30 challenge with a friend. I lost 7 lbs so I was happy. The picture above was my favorite thing to eat while I was "clean eating." It's chicken and apple sausages from Costco that I would just cook up then eat with mustard. One day I wasn't feeling well (My colds always go to my ears) and Garrett asked me if I was hungry. I asked for chicken and apple sausage. He comes back into the room and serves it to me like this! Probably one of the cutest things...sometimes he really out does himself :)

Damon loves the headlights that Daddy bought. In fact, now...(in April) the lights barely turn on now because someone has been using them too much. I think we need a better hiding place. It's pretty cute seeing him with these though. It reminds me of my dad. He would always were these at night to read his scriptures of work on his guns or look at some kind of book.

There he is again with the headlight. For a family night we made a spiderweb on the ground for a fun lesson. We used orange and black spider rings that held the "spiders" in the world...like gossip and immodesty and such. Not only did we use this as a spiritual message but we also used the spiders and web (we may have left the web there for a couple weeks) to help Damon learn the difference between the color orange and black. He was having a hard time with colors at that time. (Now in April, he has really blossomed and really knows his colors and knows and tells me that, "Green means go" and "Red means stop." Sometimes he mixes them up but for the most part he's got it down. I'm so proud of him! Just the little things he says just blows our mind. Like last night, we were talking about Sunday because Damon always says, "Guess what, I see Abbie Sunday!" Abbie is his best friend. Then Garrett asked him what else he was going to do on Sunday. His response was, "feel the spirit." He has such a precious soul. It caught Garrett and I by surprise and made us feel so proud and so blessed. He teaches us everyday!

I was really worried about Damon's Peter Pan costume because when I was making it and would have him try it on...he'd start crying! Once I finished the belt, paired them with his pants (which by the way, green pants are so hard to find!) and handed him a sword he didn't want to take them off. He also enjoyed wearing the hat too. I felt relieved. I was worried he wouldn't wear it after all the work I put into it. We also read Peter Pan multiple times and I'm sure that got him was hooked. I mean, he gets to hold/wear a sword so of course he's happy.

All of these pictures are without the red feather in his hat. It was really hard for me to find a feather, truthfully! I finally found one and painted it red.

The pants that I found were actually at Costco. They had a wolf on the bum! I was going to try to remove the wolf but it wasn't removable. Luckily the shirt covered it!

No pants! :) Still cute!

Here's Damon playing and learning which spider is orange and black...just like I mentioned earlier. He had so much fun with it. He, by the way, put that shirt on himself. That's why it's backwards. Also, his birthday was in September...he just really wanted to wear that shirt and wear it backwards.

These pictures of Damon opening presents were back in September. Aunt Charity sent him a box full of fun presents! He loved them all!

Oh baby! A sticky hand! Too fun :)

He loves these binoculars she got him. Thanks Aunt Charity and Ali, Mikey and Uncle Matty!

And our little road trip begins! We went up to spend Garrett's birthday in Idaho. The trip wasn't as long as we would of liked but it was fun to be with family for Garrett's birthday and Halloween. And we finally got to see our new nephew and cousin, Crew! We owe a lot to my Grandma Dekorte for letting us have this portable DVD player. It was a life saver!

Us thugs traveling it up.

My most favorite traveling companion!

He loves his teddy, it melts me.

Once we got to IF, we went straight to Sam's Club to meet up with Papa, Nana and Aunt Lacey. Damon always has fun with Papa, as you can see in this picture.

I love Damons never weary around family or friends that he hasn't seen in a while. He just picks up where he left off in their relationship :) He loves Papa

He also loves Brynley

For Garrett's birthday dinner we went to Jalisco's. Yum! It just stunk that I was Whole 30-ing at the time and had a limited meal...

They're too cute! Connected at the hip they were.

Snuggle time with Nana. We love Nana.

Daddy's birthday morning!

Damon's cute new shirt from Grandma and Grandpa (Mikey has a matching one)

He's ready to ride!

You can't really tell in this picture but Damon was helping Papa take care of the chickens.

Of course Damon face plants the morning of trick or treating. Poor guy. He's tough. (I must say that a lot because the other day--again I'm talking in April setting--Damon looked at me, I think I stubbed my toe or something and said ow, he asked if I was ok then he told me I was tough. It was so cute! It's nice to be reminded that I too am tough)

Handsomest birthday boy ever! 26 never looked so good!

How he can fall asleep like this is beyond me but man it's so cute!

This is how my husband passes time when we are driving. He just randomly was like this when I looked over. He cracks me up!

Baby Crew! So cute. Loved finally snuggling on him.

Trick-or-treating time! The red feather is now on and pictured :)

Getting our candy eating on!

My Peter Pan!

My little family! Damon unfortunately has chocolate on his face but I love this picture of my family on this special day. It's Damon's first time truly going door to door and asking for candy. AND!...I was 4.5 weeks pregnant at this point...I just didn't know it yet :)

Playing Dr. with Branley's toys as we wait to go trick or treating.

Getting shoes on to go trick-or-treating with Daddy

My heart! My baby is growing up!

There they go to go trick or treating. I stayed behind to finish cooking for Garrett's birthday food.
They looked so cute, it made me kind of emotional. I can't believe how big my baby is getting.

They're first house :)
People may have though he was Robin Hood. Robin Hood, Peter Pan...I'll take either. At least this homemade costume was acknowledged as something lol. I call it a success!

Hocus Pocus! A must watch on Halloween :)
It's tradition!

Beautiful Idaho! I love it here.

It was a wonderful trip. We miss Idaho all the time.
Here's Damon wearinge socks on his hands haha. He loves doing that for some reason :)
