Timeline

Lately I've been so interested in blogging. I've learned so much and frankly I've been craving to write another post.
As we all know, Garrett and I are freshly married. I'm head over heels and am definitely still in my honeymoon stage of marriage. I'm proud of it and I hope this stage never ceases. Since all I can do is think about my hubby (just like all the other married women out there, young or old) I've been catching myself drool over all of Garrett's timeline of pictures. Starting as a little baby until now makes me feel so blessed to have such a handsome man. I would have been all over him in elementary school, middle school and high school if I knew him back then. Instead I am lucky enough to have him all to myself now.
I love looking at his pictures, in fact they remind me of our future babies. Before I met Garrett I felt like I missed my husband...but I didn't even now who he was yet.  Now that I'm married I've been having the same feelings but for my children. I truly miss them and love them so much already. I can't wait to go through pregnancy. To see them for the first time. To congratulate them into this world. To take care of them and teach them.

My hope is that I will be the best I can be as a teacher and mother for them. To have inspiration and guidance for my children just like my mother has had for me. Growing up, mom literally had eyes on the back of her head. Not only could she sense lies and trouble but she could feel when or when we shouldn't go places. Usually when she said no, we would get mad. But the next day, there would be an answer as to why we were meant not to go. Something always went wrong. And mom always was in tune to the spirit that helped keep us safe. She always guarded her children well. I want to be that mom. Especially in such wicked world that we live in.

As baby crazy as I am, I know it is right to have children but I need to focus on the right timing. Lately I've been thinking of Garrett and I. If both of our sets of parents didn't have us or had us at the wrong time, then our timing would have been all off. It makes me think about our children's future spouses. We need to be in tune so they are set up for the right opportunities. Having these thoughts have been so helpful as of late. But I can't help but think about what our children will look like.
I truly hope they look just like their daddy.
I'ts crazy, It's like  Garrett started out as a Mexican..
With the cutest dark hair..
To dirty blonde..and SO Happy all the time..
To stunningly blonde..SO Cute!..
Again..So happy :) ...
And playful :) ...
Haha Cute, blonde and silly...
Handsome lil boy...
Cutest devil I ever saw...
This makes me smiles, so happy and so stinking cute...
Silly boy :) as usual...
I love this boy so much, I wish I knew him back then...
Cutest First Grader...
Smiley Birthday Boy...
So handsome!..
And athletic (notice his hair is turning dark again) :) ...
Does he just make you melt?...
I love his smile, it's not fake, he's always so happy, I love it...
Oh this makes me melt too (And now his hair is really dark again too)...
Mexican at heart! (He must have known internally he was going to Mexico for two years)...
So good with children (Upper: is with Caden, Lower: with Bryttyn)...
Going to be the best daddy...
Still smiling today!! SO SO lucky I am to have such a happy and handsome man!
This concludes that if the babies look just like Garrett we are in luck! I think we will be able to tell right at the beginning if our babies have hair because I was bald for two years! Garrett had a head full of hair that was jet black then randomly changed real blonde. But looking at all of the nieces and nephews, all the kids start out with black hair then go blonde then stay blonde or go brown. It's crazy and yet so cool. I love it. I love my husband so much!

Garrett's First Birthday Week!

Within my family's traditions, we celebrate Birthday weeks. This usually seems foreign to our fresh spouses. Even though this is different, of course its awesome and they can't reject it. During this week we just let the Birthday Boy relax and be spoiled with doing whatever he wanted. Garrett had his first birthday week during the week of Halloween (His Birthday is on Halloween!) Since it was his birthday week I just had to incorporate his birthday into my pumpkin carving. This year Garrett and I both tried something new with our pumpkins. We both ended up being very proud of these puppies.
Although Garrett got the traditional Birthday week, we ended up celebrating his Birthday (Meaning we sang Happy Birthday and had a treat with a candle on it) on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Saturday and Sunday were so Matt and Char could be there. Monday because that was his real Birthday.
This is how he looked on Saturday :)
He looked so cute with his Happy Birthday glasses and headband.

To just brag a little about my hubby:
Garrett is by far the most courteous, self-less and inspiring man. He truly hates contention. I love how tender his heart is towards children and to every type of person in this world. Not only does he think of those in need but he finds the good in everyone. In confrontation he puts himself in a position where he can  stop and analyze the other person's situation. He senses their feelings and faces the fact that they might be late for an event or having a bad day. I am so blessed to have a husband that has this gift. He's always thinking of others. Without him realizing it he truly does control my spit fire. He makes me a better person and has made me the happiest I have ever been. I'm so blessed to have found him. He also has a way with words. I definitely do not. He can make something that could be taken so rudely and make it into a statement that is actually a very kind way of saying a negative thing. He's such an amazing example to me. He is such a loving guy. He deserves to been shown how much I love him all the time. It was fun to have all attention on him for a week to help remind him even more how important he is. That's why I'm so grateful for birthday weeks. He deserves to be in the spotlight.

On Saturday, as a family, we all dressed up. It was voted that Garrett indeed stole the show with his attire. As you can tell... with his sexy calculator and fantastic hair. Oh and the pants pulled all the way up to the moon. He is by far the hottest nerd I've ever seen.

I love this boy so much. He brings so much fun into the Dekorte Family and of course to the Nield family. I can't believe I caught such an amazing guy. For some reason I thought I was going to marry someone that my family didn't approve of. The funny this is my family approved of him before I did! They love him to death and it's obvious. But now it's safe to say that I love him the most!

I loved celebrating Garrett's 23rd birthday with him! It's our first birthday as a married couple!

I made him "Better Than Sex" Cake on Sunday
HE'S SO CUTE!!
On Sunday we also bobbed for donuts (Garrett and Matt had never done it before). Of the people in the family that are not dairy or gluten allergic got to bob with normal donuts. Of the group it was Matt, Garrett, Anna and I. Of course the Birthday Boy won! Woohoo! That's my man!

For some reason Alison's really didn't like us eating the donuts. We think it's because she thought we were getting hurt somehow. For the Gluten and Dairy free participants we had special donuts (Mom, Dad, Char and Drew). Since the donuts are a little smaller they all competed against each other. Drew won.

Then we played "Don't eat Pete". For those who haven't played this- its a game with 10 boxes, each with an m&m on it. One person leaves the room while we pick a box that is Pete. The person comes back and eats as much m&m's as possible until they pick Pete. Dad decided to spice it up and put a dollar on each box. Each couple got to do this. Garrett earned us some money.

I can't get enough of Garrett. It is so much fun having a special someone in my life. I have the best husband that I could ever possibly have all to myself. He is my best friend. Happy Birthday Year Husband! (Only because I love you and you deserve it.)

Ali Girl

Last Weekend Garrett and I had an awesome opportunity!
With this opportunity in mind, I thought I would dedicate this post to Alison. Even though she can't read yet I still want to set aside a moment to cherish this sweet girl.
After begging and begging....Matt and Char FINALLY :) invited Garrett and I to come to Eugene to babysit one of my favorites. We were so excited to see them but...even more excited to get a special time with baby Alison. Unfortunately Baby Alison is not much of a baby anymore. It's sad to see her grow but at the same time it's so fun to be able to talk and play with Ali girl. With Punkins! (Oh this Halloween design is so appropriate for this post about Ali because her nickname is punkins.) She is in such a fun stage right now.

Ali talks up a storm. Randomly she will call me just to say hi or because she is having a hard moment.
(With the help of her mom of course.)
But the crazy thing is she knows my iphone better than i do!
She took this picture all by herself with my phone. I didn't do a thing!
I just sat on the sideline amazed at how smart she is!

Also now she knows my name! I love it how she calls me Ashy.
Also from the start she picked up Garrett's name in a jiffy. Her own way of calling Uncle Garrett, Garrett (emphasizing on the T) is so stinking cute. Already you can tell she loves this new uncle of hers.

We had so much fun spending time with Ali. As you can tell...she is soo photogenic like her mom. She is so happy. At times she has her moments but when she is having fun she definitely will show it. She will not let anyone else in the room out talk her. She gets the talking from her dad when it comes to the things he likes, like the ducks or electronics I'm sure :)
My favorite is in this clip below. She has such a fun personality!

It's hard for me to express how much this litte girl means to me. Even when she was first born she had the ability of getting me to spill my deepest darkest secrets to her. It's as if she is one of my best friends that I have been waiting so long to be with again. It's too bad Matt and Char live so far away, taking my friend with them. No matter how far apart we are I feel this bond will never loosen. Not only between Ali and I but with Char and Matt. Charity has always been my best friend. And Matt is by far my favorite brother in law. (Well on this side of the family. I guess I can't say that anymore since I'm married) But the truth is that Char and Matt have a special place in my heart, along with their sweet baby girl and there little boy to come. (Or at least my guess is it's a boy)
I can't wait for all her years to come of growing up, all of us growing up together as a family. I feel like the three of us (Garrett, Ali and I) will always have a special bond.

It may not look like it in this picture but she was very happy and smiling.
We had so much fun and hope....(hint to Char and Matt) that you will have us visit more often.

MR. & MRS.

We met, We dated, He asked, And I said Yes.
August 27th 2011

Pictures do tell a thousand words.
But I feel like this picture lacks to show HOW happy I am.  There is a quote that states:
"Happy marriages begin when we marry the one we love, and they blossom when we love the one we married."  This is so true!
Each day I  somehow become more giddy than the day before. I can't wait to see how giddy and in love I am in 50 years from now.

I'm just so happy to have started off this marriage the right way.
Already we have been married a month.
It has been the best month.
The best part is knowing that this month  will have no comparison to the
months to come.
I'm so lucky to have found my sweetheart.

Sealed in the House of the Lord for All time & Eternity.

What an amazing place and day to share with my Hubby.
