Cousins Bonding

Iphones. What would we do without our Iphones?
Right after Damon was born my Dad would have missed out on the experience if we didn't have an Iphone to face time him. Also Damon's cousins, Ali and Michael, that live all the way in Oregon would never of been able to meet him either without it.

Look at how cute Ali is face timing her newest cousin!
She loves him so much. She is so cute with him. She always says he is "So cuuute" or talks about how she wants to see him .Oh and I love the way she says his name!
Which you will see him the video below!

How cute is that??

Here they are face timing again :)

Michael and Damon are almost exactly 6 months apart.
They are the closest cousins in age.
I'm sure they are going to have lots of fun in the mere future :)

Also we do some Face Timing with Gwama and Pampa!

And this.... below is just a real cute video of Ali and Michael. I love my nieces and nephews!

First Few Days of Life: Sweet Damon

Here I am sitting at home with Damon in my arms waiting for Garrett to get home from work at Melaleuca. Today is November 30th so he won't be home until 11 tonight because it's month end. Month end--Meaning its the busiest time of the month. I felt that pictures of our Damon needed to be posted. Since this is technically my journal I want to keep it updated for my future posterity to see and read about.
Just a side note--I know I make a lot of writing and punctuation errors in my posts but frankly I don't care because--as I said this is my journal. In paper and pencil journals no one ever goes through and rereads what they wrote and correct it. Or at least I never have. So what I write down stays and is never read again until I go through it like weeks or months or years later so I can remember. I write things down to remember not because I love to write. In fact, writing is a weakness of mine.  There are tons of spelling errors and I'm sure I change from 1st to 2nd to 3rd person a lot. So kids, (grandkids, great grand and beyond down the line)--don't judge me and if you get the talent of writing...awesome. That is a gift passed down from your father, Garrett Curtis Nield. Not your mom. Lucky you :)

In fact (Another side note...sorry lol) I always mean to say things nicely in writing but I'm just horrible at it. I feel like I have good intentions but I just can't write it down or even say it really. So I will write things down then tell Garrett what I'm meaning to say then he will edit it. What would I do without him.
Haha---(Now random tangent) Sometimes when I am talking with Garrett I will tell him something that he didn't understand what I was saying before. Then it will click with him or it just sounded real good (or so I think, it probably didn't for all I know haha) I will then literally stop and have a little fiesta in my head where I congratulate myself for finding the right words...Yes I know...I'm awesome...(As Barney from the tv show, "How I Met Your Mother" would say)

Any who, I love posting pictures.
They tell so much. I always love looking at pictures.
Sooo many pics you will see.
I want my future family to see what we looked like back in the day :)
Technology is awesome.
This picture captures Father-Son bonding time. So cute.
As you can tell Garrett recently woke up to take care of our little man. At first Damon wouldn't sleep much as a newborn. In fact my mom (when she was with us) she would stay up until 2am watching Damon so Garrett and I could get come rest. She would sneak in and wake me to feed him around that time or she would place him in his bassinet which then soon after he would wake up wanting to be fed and changed. BUT over time, in a matter of a couple of weeks after mom left Damon would sleep through the night. I would then wake him every 4 hours to feed and change him. Then it went to every 5 hours. I didn't want our sweet boy going without his nutrition.

Tired boy. He truly is the most mellow happy boy. Yes he is human and cries every now and then but truly he is the best baby. I can't believe how well he sleeps.

Snuggling with mamas in the rocking chair. My favorite spot ever.

I can;t get enough of him.

He loves his gwama. They have such a bonding connection. You can just see it between them. It is so special. Before my mom came out my dad gave mom a blessing and in it it told her (this was before Damon was born) that he (Damon) already knew her and loved her. In it it mentioned how much he loves his grandma. I find that so powerful and emotional. I know that the priesthood is a gift from God. What a gift children and grandchildren are. I know that before we came down to earth we all knew each other and that my son picked me and Garrett to be his parents and he picked his grandma and grandpa because he loves them so.

I love these pics of Damon and I because...

It's like he is sitting there chillin' like a thug lol

Streeeetch! I love the face he makes when he stretches.

Daddy changing Damon's diap. Damon love love loves getting his diaper changed! He gets all happy and giddy when you change it. I'm hoping that this is a sign of easily potty training himself? Because he hates sitting in it?

Haha funny face

He loves sleeping with one hand up by his face when he isn't being swaddled. He loves being swaddled too.

Touch down!

Looking up at Daddy. Damon is a very alert baby :)

Giving us a little smirk. At week 3 of life he was giving us smiles. Then he caught on and just kept smiling like crazy as you will see in the later pics

Binky time. When he was younger he loved his binkys after you held it there and he realized that yes he truly did want a binky. As he has grown he doesn't love them so much (now is him at 2 months...these pictures are of him from 2 days to a couple week old)

Handsome boy!

Damon's first real bath in a bath tub at home.
Grandma gave him his first sponge bath at home.

Bath time

We love bath time

Of cours, my mom--Gwama Dekorte was there with you Baby D (Your Auntie Charity hasn't met you yet in person but will in a couple weeks. She calls you Baby D. I love it but I'm kinda hoping that when you get older it doesn't change to Big D because that reminds me of Dudley off of Harry Potter...)
Pampa wasn't there yet but he came in a couple days. Pampa was so homesick. He was missing his wife [My parents have the sweetest marriage. They love each other so much. They sincerely still act like newly weds--(but of course more mature and less in lala land)--and they just celebrated their 32nd anniversary] and missing his Damon.

Now here we are getting on Damon's diap. Lucky he didn't pee on me or on himself this time but he has many times after. (A couple days after getting home I was changing Damon's diaper and he peed onto his face! I felt so bad that I started crying. He actually just did that again yesterday. I hate seeing that because he is so helpless and confused as to what is falling onto his face. Also he has projectile pooped onto his daddy shin :) hehe)

Here we are again after Damon's bath...yes that is a puppy pad that the hospital gave us. They we meant for times like this before they were for puppies.

Streeetching face :)

Handsome boy in the outfit Gwama got him

Getting ready for his first walk!
Hehe yes I know his outfit is crazy looking. I just wanted to make sure he was warm on the walk with mama and gwama at 1 week old. It is always so windy in Rexburg and we didn't have anything newborn that matched his cute onsie...sooo this outfit came to be :)

Off we go :)

I regret us not taking a picture of gwama and Damon going on the walk. She was there I promise!

I love it when his bum sticks out like this

Here is the carseat cover that Aunt Erica bought us, which we love. (We were in the airport waiting for my dad to get off the plane to see Damon for the first time. Damon was exactly one week old, the same day we went for a walk) I was sincerely looking at it online and almost ordered it myself. Way to go Ca for picking out the exact one without even knowing!

So cute

Meeting for the first time in person.

It looks like Damon was crying or screaming but really he was just yawning.

It was so fun having my daddy come! Miss my mama and dad. I wish they lived closer.

Haha Garrett was being so funny. We were late on picking up Dad's suitcase. We were talking to long I guess but really I think the airport people were just real speedy. Anyways Garrett, Damon and I were waiting while mom and dad were trying to get Dad's suitcase so Garrett decided he would see how fasr he would go around the suitcase island thing....

Hahaha my husband is a hoot. I love how he is the life of the party anywhere he goes. He is constantly making me laugh.

Pampa giving his Damon loves

I love this picture of my parents. They are just examining their 3rd grandchild.
They love him so much!

My nakey boy :)

You can kinda see his dimples. Love them!

I can just envision him running around shirtless in the future. But it makes me sad thinking of him growing up. I love every single stage. I just feel like there isn't enough time with each stage. I just am so in love with this boy.

Precious :)

Love how he zonks out especially in his grandma's arms

They have such precious moments together. Only 16 days until we get to see gwama and pampa again and all of the aunts and uncles on the Dekorte side! Oh and Ali and Michael!!

Photo Shoot

MY SWEET DAMON'S PHOTO SHOOT AT 3 WEEKS OLD!
Lacey of course took the pictures and did awesome.
She literally made her kitchen/dining table room a studio. The  back drops were just fabric being held up by soup cans off the kitchen's counter. We literally heated up the facility with a space heater (in the summer) to get Damon sleepy. For the first bit he was wide awake. Underneath him was his boppy and a heating pad (also to get him sleepy). Also I fed him alot to also get him sleepy. He was perfect. He's just my mellow boy. He is so handsome and happy. I am one lucky mama.
I love this boy so so much!
